Happy 2016.

I had a really lovely New Year’s Eve in sunny Margate at Dreamland, enjoying the merry-go-rounds and mirror maze. Gruff rode his first rollercoaster – a caterpillar – and spontaneously shouted ‘WOOO!’ on the fast bits, and we went up in the big wheel to see the sea. In the afternoon we went to the Turner Gallery for an exhibition about Risk – I enjoyed the poet and artist Heather Phillipson’s birthing pool installation – and then we saw in the New Year with friends on the harbour arm, drinking fizz and watching (extremely close) fireworks.

With my next manuscript finished I’m a bit between writing projects, and need to think about a new direction. The Ovid tour is also close to completion, although I have a couple of dates left: Rich Mix on Valentine’s for Londoners, and dates in Milnthorpe, Cranleigh and Manchester in Feb and March (see the Jaybird website for more details).

Still – we had the second scan and we’re expecting a little girl, so that’s exciting. A time for plotting and dreaming what’s next…
