Two quick announcements! Firstly, I have been asked to help judge the biennial Popescu European Poetry Translation Prize with Olivia McCannon, organised by the Poetry Society and supported by the British Council. Presses – please submit translations by the 31st of July. I’m already anticipating the arrival of boxes of poetry this August, and all the discoveries that await (which I look forward to sharing with you.) The previous two winners have been Toon Tellegen’s Raptors and Alice Oswald’s Memorial, so dizzyingly high standards have been set – it’s a prize that expands our sense of what poetry in English can do, and I’m honoured to be part of it.
Also, the Poetry School/University of Newcastle Poetry MA is now open for applications. I’ll be tutoring London students along with Roddy Lumsden.
Proper blog shortly…
